HURON — Author Sallianne Hines of Huron has released the second book in her “Mothers, Sisters, Friends” collection of sequels and side stories inspired by Jane Austen’s novels.

“The Pleasure of Her Company” is the story of Mrs Dashwood, a few years after “Sense & Sensibility.” It includes some of literature’s most beloved Regency characters, along with a new cast of friends young and old.

The first book in the collection is “Her Summer at Pemberley,” being the story of Kitty Bennet after Austen’s “Pride & Prejudice.”

Hines is also the author of “Love & Stones,” a contemporary novel with a mature heroine and hero that involves family dilemmas, friendships, and a second chance at love.

Also a book editor, she has recently released “About Editing, an essential guide for authors.” She spoke about editing and self-publishing at a Huron Public Library Author Event held Saturday. Hines is at work on a nonfiction book about garden planning and the third novel in her Austen collection.
