Huron High School homecoming 2023 is this week

HURON — Huron High School will celebrate homecoming this week with the theme “No Place Like Homecoming.”

Special dress up themes have been chosen for each day of the week, with the theme “Not in Kansas Anymore” on Monday with students and staff wearing country-style clothes. Boys’ golf will be in Brookings, and boys’ junior varsity ESD golf will be in Mitchell.

Tuesday is “Twister Tuesday,” with everyone wearing mismatched or backward clothes. Girls’ junior varsity tennis will be in Pierre, with soccer and volleyball at Yankton, and the cheer and dance team at Brandon.

Wednesday’s dress-up theme is Emerald City, wearing city or business attire.

Thursday’s theme is “Which Witch is Which” (twin day). Girls’ JV tennis will be at Mitchell, as well as ninth grade football. The volleyball team versus Harrisburg will be held at 7 p.m., with coronation planned at 8:15 p.m. following the game at Huron Arena.

Friday’s theme is “No Place Like Homecoming,” with early release at 1:30 p.m. and the parade to begin at 2 p.m. A tailgate is planned at 5:30 p.m. at Tiger Stadium, with the football game against Sturgis at 7 p.m.
