On April 24, Huron High School students stepped into the role of CEOs of a cell phone company during the virtual JA Titan competition.

Eight teams from schools across the eastern part of the state took part in the event. The goal was to see who could sell the most cell phones in “16 quarters.”

Before the competition, students completed JA Titan in Mike Carda’s classroom, developing entrepreneurial spirit and business skills. Throughout the lessons, they gained experience making critical business decisions, from operations to marketing and corporate social responsibility.

Volunteers from our community instruct students on personal and business principles that are relevant to their lives and are the foundation of financial stability and work readiness. Implementation of JA programming is made possible thanks to community volunteers and funds from businesses, individuals, foundations, and special events.
