HURON — The Huron School District placed sixth grade ESL teacher Zachary Kaderabek on administrative leave on Nov. 18, after he was charged with two counts of sexual exploitation of a minor and two counts of solicitation of a minor.
According to the police complaint, Kaderabek, who is in his fourth year in the Huron School District, initiated Snapchat contact with a student in the spring, and after feeling uncomfortable with the conversation, the student talked with friends.
One of those friends set up a “catfish” account of a fictitious 14-year-old girl to converse with Kaderabek, and he shared inappropriate images of himself with that account while requesting photographs in return and also insinuating that inappropriate games would be played were the two to meet in person.
Huron School District Superintendent Dr. Kraig Steinhoff stated that, “The Huron School District is communicating with its attorney and is cooperating with law enforcement. All policies, procedures, and laws will be followed. The accused staff member is on administrative leave.”
The four charges are based on conversations that took place in October and November of this year with the catfish account and Kaderabek, according to the complaint.
Kaderabek will make his initial court appearance Wed., Dec. 11.
