Huron wins three events in Aberdeen

ABERDEEN — CJ Gainey, Tyson Pfitzer and Hamytn Heinz won events for Huron during the Aberdeen Central Field Event Meet held Tuesday.

Gainey claimed the top spot in the long jump for the Tigers with a mark of 19-feet, 4-inches.

Pfitzer led four top-10 finishers for Huron in the triple jump. He won the event with a distance of 38-6.25.

Angelo Medina was third in the triple jump for the Tigers at 35-4, while Antwon Flying Hawk was fourth at 34-1.25 and Aristeo Escobar was fifth at 33-8.25.

Huron had four of the top six finishers in the girls’ javelin, with Hamtyn Heinz leading the way with a winning throw of 106-11.

Hylton Heinz was second for Huron at 105-11, followed by Alyse Davis, who was third at 103-0 and Jencie Goergen, who was sixth at 91-10.

Bryan Ramirez was second for the Tigers in both the boys’ shot put and discus events. He had throws of 52-2.5 in the shot put and 149-0 in the discus.

Andreson Porisch was fifth for Huron in the discus at 140-10, while Pfitzer was seventh at 126-2.

The Tigers also had four of the top seven finishers in the boys’ javelin. Kolby Hofer was second at 145.7, while Pfitzer was third at 142-2, Jeremy Hofer was sixth at 128-3 and Porisch was seventh at 125-6.

Micah Larson was second for Huron the boys’ pole vault at 12-3.

Isabelle Kremer was ninth for the Tigers in the girls’ discus at 92-11. Davis was 10th in shot put at 31-4 and Hannah Schoenfelder was 10th in long jup at 13-8.5.

Huron’s full track team will be back in action Thursday, with the Mark Wendelgass Relays getting under way at 2 p.m., at Tiger Stadium.
