HARRISBURG — Huron nearly came up with a sweep during a girls’ tennis quadrangular meet on Friday.
The Tigers, who were missing their top singles player due to injury, recorded back-to-back 8-1 wins against Lennox and Vermillion, before being edged 5-4 by Harrisburg.
“The girls played so well. It was a great day,” Huron coach Rachel Kary said.
Ann Hoek at No. 3, Say Glay at No. 4 and Madeline Kleinsasser at No. 6 all went 3-0 in the singles competition for Huron.
Glay and Paw Kler Moo finished with a perfect record on the day at No. 3 doubles for the Tigers.
Huron will travel to Pierre for a triangular today at 10 a.m.
