Huron wrestlers finish fourth at Dan Pansch Invitational

BRANDON — With nine placewinners, including an individual champion, the Huron wrestling team finished fourth during the Dan Pansch Invitational on Saturday.

Norfolk (Neb.) used a score of 237 to edge Brandon Valley by a half a point for the top spot in the 11-team event. O’Gorman was third at 139, followed by the Tigers at 131. Chamberlain rounded out the top five with an 87.

Huron had a pair of wrestlers reach the title match during the invitational.

Moses Gross pinned Joel Thompson of Norfolk at the 2:58 mark of their 150-pound championship match to win the title for the Tigers. .

Crayton Siedschlag would finish second for Huron at 120.

Shar Ler Moo Ser at 175 and Bryan Ramirez at 215 were third for the Tigers, while Hser Wah at 285 and Carter Nelson at 106 were fourth.

Brady Meyer finished fifth for Huron at 126, while Ryder Siedschlag at 113 and Dah Moo at 190 were sixth.
Girls

Norfolk (Neb.) also won the girls’ title on Saturday, with 206.5 points.

Brandon Valley was second at 95, followed by Dell Rapids at 92, Bon Homme/Scotland/Avon at 61 and Huron at 52.

Leading the Tigers to the fifth-place finish was Kaitlyn Florey, who won the title at 250. She decisions Sally Beal of Brandon Valley 4-3 in the title match.

Chalie Sah was second for Huron at 107, while Naw Htoo Ywe was third at 100.

Aleshkn Oyoia-Radriquez at 114 and Paola Fernandez at 185 were fifth for the Tigers.

The Huron wrestling teams will make their home debut on Tuesday, when they host Brookings at 6 p.m., at Huron Arena.
