WATERTOWN — The Huron wrestling team opened its season Saturday at the Marv Sherrill Dual Tournament.

The Tigers earned one win in four matches at the event.

Huron faced Canby (Minn.) in the opening match and dropped a 51-21 decision.

Winning matches for the Tigers were Carter Nelson at 106 pounds, Aiden Zavesky at 138 pounds, Moses Gross at 157 and Dah Moo at 215.

Huron’s lone win was a 42-33 victory against Mitchell.

Brady Meyer won for the Tigers at 126, Zavesky won at 138, Lah Doh Soe won at 150, Gross won at 157, Griffin Storm won at 165 and Bryan Ramirez won at 285.

Watertown cruised to a 69-6 win against Huron.

Gross had the lone win for the Tigers at 157.

Milbank pulled out a 48-30 victory against Huron in the final match.

Earning wins for the Tigers were Ryder Siedschlag at 113, Meyer at 126; Gross at 157 and Ramirez at 285.

Huron will return to action Thursday with duals against Sioux Falls Roosevelt and Sioux Falls Jefferson in Rapid City.
