Johnson rolls 300 after nearly missing one

HURON — After nearly bowling a perfect game in the first game of the series, Bo Johnson of Huron got the job done in the second game during the Universal League on Tuesday at Fair City Lanes.

Johnson tossed nine strikes in the opening game, before an errant shot in the 10th and final frame doomed his 300 bid. He got back on track and rolled 12 consecutive strikes for the 57th perfect game of his career with his right hand.

It was the fourth 300 game during league play this season in Huron.

Johnson finished with 248 in the third game Tuesday to give him an 814 series. It was the 34th time he’s eclipsed the 800-mark in a series during his career.
