JALISCO, MEXICO –– It is with heavy but full hearts that his family announces the passing of José Delgado, on January 24, at the age of 78 in Jalisco, Mexico.
Born and raised in Jalisco, José immigrated to the U.S. in his early twenties, seeking new opportunities while always keeping his roots close to heart.
In the early 1980s, he settled in Huron, where he would remain for four decades.
During his time there, he built a life filled with love, hard work, and strong connections. He married Jody Burkel, his wife for 22 years, in Huron and they raised 3 children, sharing many cherished memories.
José had a deep love for life’s simple pleasures. He enjoyed gardening, fishing, reading, and socializing, always finding joy in good company and meaningful conversations. His work ethic, resilience, and warmth towards family and friends will be dearly missed and remembered forever. He leaves behind a lifetime of stories, laughter, and lessons that will continue to inspire those who knew him.
He is survived by his children Jamie Delgado, Maria Delgado, Angelina Martin, Jonathan Martin, Andrew Delgado, Ariel Busch, and Aaron Delgado.
José was preceded in death by his parents Angelina Sanchez and Ruperto Delgado of Jalisco, Mexico, and his son, José Delgado, Calif.
