WACONIA, Minn. — Ladene Elizabeth Glanzer, 77, formerly of Huron, peacefully entered the Lord’s presence May 7, 2025, following a tragic fall that caused a traumatic brain injury.
Ladene was born on Aug. 6, 1947, in Huron, to David M. and Kathryn (Decker) Glanzer. On March 12, 1950 — the same day her father passed away — Ladene was dedicated to the Lord. She accepted Christ as her personal Savior in 1956 during VBS at Huron Mission Church (now Living Hope Alliance Church) and was baptized in 1959.
Ladene attended Huron public schools, graduating in 1966. She completed a one-year course at Northwest College of Commerce in Huron and then accepted a keypunch operator position at Northwestern Public Service Company from 1967 to 1978. She also served as evening and weekend church secretary at Huron Mission Church for Rev. Richard Dugan and later for Rev. Jim Rightler. In 1977, Ladene felt called to attend St. Paul Bible College (now Crown College) to pursue a one-year Bible certificate.
God’s providence led Ladene to a full-time position at the college beginning Jan. 1, 1980, where she served multiple offices using computer technology. She also continued her education, earning an Associate of Arts degree in secretarial science in 1984. Over the years she held various positions until her final role as Accounts Payable Administrator in the Finance Office. After 36 years of dedicated service, Ladene retired on Dec. 31, 2016. She was later awarded Staff Emeritus status, a significant honor which she took very seriously. In her retirement, Ladene enjoyed travel and reading, and lovingly oversaw the care of her sister, Ladella, who had developed dementia.
Ladene was preceded in death by her parents, David and Kathryn Glanzer; her beloved sister, Ladella; numerous aunts and uncles; and several cousins.
A Commemorative Reception of friends and family will be held at Living Hope Alliance Church, 1779 Frank Ave. S.E., Huron, on Saturday, June 7, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. A light lunch will be served, with a time of sharing and remembrance scheduled for 12:30 p.m.
