HURON — Leann Moeding, age 75, of Huron, passed away on Wednesday, May 28, 2025, at Huron Regional Medical Center in Huron. A memorial service to celebrate her life will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, June 2, 2025 at Welter Funeral Home.
Leann was born on April 26, 1950, in De Smet, to Jack and Fanchon (Lee) Rounseville.
On Nov. 1, 1968, Leann married Michael Moeding in Huron, where they made their home. She was a graduate of Northwest College of Commerce in Huron. Leann had a lifelong passion for helping others. She found joy and purpose in her work, particularly in feeding people and organizing events. She dedicated many years as the manager of the American Legion restaurant in Huron.
Later, she worked as the Deli and Bakery Manager at Fair City Foods until her retirement to care for her mother full-time. Leann enjoyed gardening, canning, and spending time with her beloved dogs and family.
She is survived by her husband of 56 years, Michael Moeding; and her daughters: Kimberly (Drew) Olson, Kristie (Brian) Robinson, Kasey Moeding (Mica Breen), and Brooke (Brian) Cunard. She was a proud grandmother to nine grandchildren: Lane, Ty, and Gage Olson; Megan (Alex) Babcock; Ashley (Braden) Curnow; Summer and Breana Ludemann; and Alivia and Adalyn Cunard. She was also blessed with three great-grandchildren: Jocelyn and Mallory Babcock, and Beckitt Ludemann.
Leann is also survived by her brothers, Jody Rounseville and Jim Rounseville, along with numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her sister, Jackie Schamber.
