Legislative coffees begin next week

HURON – Three legislative coffees for the 2019 session have been scheduled for Jan. 19 and Feb. 2 and 23.
Each will begin at 9 a.m. at City Hall.
Sen. Jim White, R-Huron; Rep. Roger Chase, R-Huron; and Rep. Bob Glanzer, R-Huron; will update constituents on activities in the Legislature and answer questions.

The coffees are hosted by the Governmental Affairs Committee of the Huron Chamber & Visitors Bureau.
New video and audio recording equipment, replacing the system that malfunctioned late last year, will be installed in the City Commission room at City Hall in time for the two February legislative coffees.
Commissioners entered into a $40,000 contract with Mid States Audio of Sioux Falls to upgrade the broadcasting equipment.
It will include a new high definition system giving a better video quality as well as other new features.
Repairing the old system was not an option because the manufacturer no longer offers service parts due to its age.
