To the Editor:
The dog days of summer aren’t here yet officially, but you wouldn’t know it judging by the high temps and lack of rain. There shouldn’t be homeless stray animals, but there are.
Somewhere on your property, not too close to the house, please place a bowl of clean water and replenish it each day. it would be so welcome to some wander, thirsty creature. Imagine yourself in a desert and coming across an oasis.
I live near the edge of town last summer and toward dusk i glanced out of my window and there was a deer drinking from my birdbath. it took a long drink, paused, looked around and then drank some more. Then it did a little jump and ran off. It was a lovely sight.
I really believe that “What you do for the least of these” meant the animals also.
