To the editor:
When truth is under attack, silence becomes complicit. Donald Trump is so corrupt and greedy, you can buy him with Monopoly money.
He is prostituting his office. In Qatar, the mad king thanked service members for their political support. He was speaking to a room of people who are apolitical and literally swore an oath to uphold the Constitution, not an individual.
There is no refugee program, except for white Afrikaners, shutting down the refugee program for everyone else. During apartheid, the United States did NOT establish a special program for South African Blacks who were treated like second-class citizens, and they couldn’t claim refugee status in the United States.
He lectured the President of South Africa about fake claims of white genocide, promoting fascist ideas. White South Africans make up about seven percent of the population. They own about 73 percent of privately owned land. In typical Republican fashion, they inverted the reality. Somehow, the people with the most power are oppressed.
We are watching a genocide in Gaza, voices are silent. When you take the correct moral stance, you are not a patriot. You are made to look like a bad actor.
South Africa is bringing charges against Israel for genocide. Privilege shouldn’t drown out truth. Substance and facts still matter.
