To the Editor:

The Supreme Court is systematically dismantling constitutional rights and we are not outraged.

Why?

They just struck down a North Carolina lawsuit. Schools can’t keep race on applications for admission. It also affects the military academies. You will start to see those schools look predominantly white.

In Colorado, there was a case where a wedding business refused to take on business from same-sex couples.

Same-sex marriages are constitutionally protected by law. They are using religion as a tool for hate. Interracial marriages were finally legalized in 1967. While this ruling (if found in favor of state rights) will it be retroactive and will all interracial marriages become illegal?

Where is the line on First Amendment rights? If a business owner objects to interracial marriages, they can say it violates their right to Freedom of Speech. If the Supreme Court agrees with this, it will set this country back for 100 years.

It will set a precedent for those businesses to refuse anyone at anytime, if they feel that the person or people don’t believe what they believe, they can be discriminated against.

The sign on a businesses should not read “Open...except.”
