To the Editor:

It’s a national disgrace that some of our elected officials initially said Donald Trump did bear responsibility for January 6, only to retract their statements when pressured to do so by the former president. There is no way for a reasonable person person with elementary critical-thinking skills to deny this.

This is about the real and existential threat to our country. These charges are moral and just. Anyone at this late date, who thinks these charges are politically motivated, need to buy another thinking cap because the current one is two sizes too small.

Another Trump presidency will be detrimental to our country. You will witness, first hand, the power grab.

He has said as much in the past. He wants enough power to fire all federal workers and install his acolytes. He already did that with the postal service.

Now in Florida, the curriculum on African-American history has to include…slavery was beneficial. It enabled people of color to learn skills that they could then apply to their daily lives.

Really! I wonder if they feel that way down in Tulsa?

Intelligent life with some of our elected officials is on hiatus. They are trying to make a virtue of ignorance. Black history is being vilified, gas-lighted and insulted, simultaneously.
