ALPENA — The Alpena American Legion Post 116 will conduct Memorial Day services beginning at 10:30 a.m. Monday, May 29, in the Community Center.
Guest speaker will be Chris Vinderslev, a veteran who served in Afghanistan.
Musical selections will be given by Leo Jensen and Linda Salter Ochsner. Military rites will be conducted by the Legion.
Following the program, the newly constructed Veterans’ Memorial will be dedicated. A noon meal will be served by the American Legion Auxiliary. Everyone is welcome to attend.
The annual Bancroft Community joint Memorial Day worship service will be held Sunday, May 28, at the Orthodox Presbyterian Church in Bancroft. Worship will begin at 11 a.m. with a potluck dinner following immediately after services. All are welcome to attend.
