Seventh-grade wins two
The Huron 7th grade boys’ basketball team swept a pair of games this past week, taking a 59-21 victory in Yankton on Monday and downing Mitchell 52-40 on Thursday.
Huron 59, Yankton 21
The Tigers rode the scoring of Carter Porisch and Josh Gilbert and a solid defensive effort to the win. Porisch scored 35 points and Gilbert added 16 in the win.
Huron 52, Mitchell 40
In the “A" contest, Mitchell emerged with a 42-25 win. Huron was led by Parker Bischoff’s seven points, while Colt Culver added five points.
Mitchell also pulled out a win in the “B” game, 35-26.
Huron got 14 points from Yo Yo and eight from Saw Htoo.
The “C” game went to the Kernels with a final score of 34-23. Huron got seven points each form Hser Teeh Pyew and Jovanny Velez.
Huron returns to action Monday, when the Tigers travel to Pierre.
