Eighth grade
MITCHELL — The Huron Tiger eighth-grade volleyball team got a balanced offensive effort Tuesday, dispatching the Mitchell Kernels 25-20 and 25-15 in the A-match.
Huron got three kills from Claire Davis, and three ace serves from Davis, Lennon Caudell, Piper DeJean, Maggie Storm and Reagan Bischoff. Bischoff also had eight set assists in the match.
The Huron B-team earned its first win of the season with set scores of 25-10 and 25-14.
Magdalena Lee and Kayla Nunez each had a kill for the Tigers (1-7). Rosa Moreno had six aces, while Amy Mejia-Castillo and Caudell each had five aces. Isabella Fechner and Nunez added four and three aces, respectively.
Huron returns to action Tuesday at Aberdeen Central.
