Eighth-grade
HURON — Using set scores of 25-22 and 25-18 the Huron eighth-grade volleyball team swept Yankton in the A-match on Monday to improve to 5-1.
Piper DeJean had seven kills on 12 of 16 attacks to lead the Tigers. Lennon Caudell was 14 of 17 hitting with five kills, while Maggie Storm was 8 of 11 with a kill.
Claire Davis recorded six aces on 17 of 19 serving for Huron, while Reagan Bischoff was 9 of 10 serving with a pair of aces and DeJean added an ace on 5 of 6 serving. Olivia Tschetter was perfect on six serves and Bischoff had 15 assists.
Yankton won the B-match with scores of 25-10 and 25-12.
Jaslene Perez and Kayla Nunez each had a kill for the Tigers (0-4). Tschetter was 6 of 7 serving with three aces.
Huron hosts Aberdeen Central on Thursday.
