Milbank jumps out fast to defeat Redfield Friday

MILBANK — A 22-7 lead in the opening quarter propelled Milbank to a 75-30 victory against Redfield on Thursday.
The Bulldogs led 42-16 at the half and outscored the Pheasants 14-4 in the third quarter.
Garrett Mertens had 20 points to lead Milbank, which improved to 5-2. Joe Schulte had 17 points.
Jackson Wildung grabbed eight rebounds to help the Bulldogs to a 36-17 advantage on the boards. Graham Lightfield had four assists and Sam Rick had four steals.
Tristen O’Daniel had 13 points to lead Redfield (1-6), while Grady Hulscher had eight points.
O’Daniel and Justin Ratigan each had five rebounds for the Pheasants.
Redfield returns to action Tuesday against Mt. Vernon/Plankinton on Tuesday in Plankinton.
