GETTYSBURG — With three of the top four runners, Miller claimed the Central South Dakota Conference boys’ cross country title on Wednesday.
Highmore-Harrold was second at 22, followed by Sunshine Bible Academy at 28 and Potter County at 29.
Pierce Baumberger won the event for the Rustlers with a time of 15:59.09, while teammate Alex Schumacher was second at 16:2i.15. Isaiah Gortmaker was fourth at 17:36.08.
Jordan Erfman and Brooks McPeak finished fifth and seventh, respectively, for Highmore-Harrold with times of 18:32.39 and 18:47.58.
Jimmy Burma was sixth for Sunshine Bible Academy at 18:45.31, while teammate Reagan Sandness was 10th at 19:07.77.
Edwyn Reyes led Wolsey-Wessington, finishing 11th, at 19:08.62.
Potter County claimed the CSDC girls’ title with six points, while Miller was second at 20.
Heidi Olson of Mobridge-Pollock won the varsity girls’ race in 19:06.43.
Autumn Fallis of Highmore-Harrold was fifth at 20:08.18. Kendal Uttecht of Wolsey-Wessington and Gabby Werdel of Miller finished in spots No. 8 and 9, respectively, with times of 21:20.37 and 21:44.43.

Eastern Chateau Conference
CLARK — Clark/Willow Lake won both the girls’ and boys’ title during the Eastern Chateau Conference Cross Country Meet on Monday.
The Cyclones had six of the top 10 runners, including race winner, Kamryn Nesheim, in the girls’ varsity race. CWL finished with eight points, which put it 23 points ahead of Deuel.
Nesheim turned in a winning time of 20:01.64, while teammates Hadley Gjerde and Cadence Bochek were fourth and fifth, respectively, at 21:17.68 and 21:39.40.
Alexa Schmidt was seventh for the Cyclones at 22:14.00, while Emma Bochek was ninth at 23:14.19 and Danielle Batchelor was 10th at 23:14.74.
Clark/Willow Lake had 16 points to edge Great Plains Lutheran by four points for the ECC boys’ title.
Cooper Pommer was second for the Cyclones at 18:55.50. He followed Kaleb Foltz of Tri-State, who had a winning time of 17:18.22, across the finish line.
Taylor Merkel was sixth for Clark/Willow Lake at 19:28.50, while Damian Severson was ninth at 20:10.23.

Boschee third for SCW in Parkston
PARKSTON — Jeffery Boschee of Sanborn Central/Woonsocket finished third in the boys’ varsity race during the Ethan/Parkston Invitational on Thursday.
Boschee turned in a time of 17:29.22.
Joseph Laprath of Winner won the boys’ varsity race in 16:30.50.
Kaden Ober was 20th at 19:13.82 to lead James Valley Chrisitan, while teammate Joel Olson was two spots back at 19:32.61.
Ethan/Parkston won the boys’ team title with 16 points, while Mt. Vernon/Plankinton was second at 32. James Valley Christian was fifth at 73.
The Lady Vikings finished second in the girls’ team standings with 31 points. Kimball/White Lake claimed the title with 10 points.
Autumn Baker was the first of four runners for Kimball/White Lake in the top five. She won the event in 18:38.88.
Hadasah Olson was eighth for James Valley Christian at 20:59.69. She was followed across the finish line by teammates Rhayonna Hood at 21:21.36 and Lily Swanson at 21:38.43.

Northeast Conference
WEBSTER — The Clark/Willow Lake girls’ cross country team finished second at the Northeast Conference Meet on Thursday.
Milbank won the girls’ title with 23 points, while the Cyclones finished at 28. Rounding out the top five were Aberdeen Roncalli at 38, Deuel at 60 and Groton Area at 93.
Ashlynn Batchelor led a trio of Milbank runners in the top six. She won the race in 19:27.63.
Kamryn Nesheim of Clark/Willow Lake was second at 20:18.74, while teammate Cadence Bochek was seventh at 21:06.37. Hadley Gjerde and Emma Bochek were No. 9 and 10, respectively, for the Cyclones at 21:20.50 and 21:35.87.
With the top three runners, Milbank also won the varsity boys’ title. The Bulldogs finished at 14, while Deuel was second at 44 and Aberdeen Roncalli was third at 44. Clark/Willow Lake was fourth at 47.
Payton Brown won the boys’ race for Milbank in 17:17.60.
Cooper Pommer was the top finisher for the Cyclones in fifth with a time of 18:50.30. Taylor Merkel was 11th for Clark/Willow Lake at 19:42.27, while Damian Severson was 13th at 19:43.98.
Payton Moore finished 14th for Redfield at 19:52.60.

Dakota Valley Conference
WHITE — Adalyn Gross finished fourth four De Smet in the girls’ varsity race during the Dakota Valley Conference Cross Country Meet on Wednesday at Six Mile Golf Course.
Gross turned in a time of 21:44.38 for the Lady Bulldogs.
Kaelyn Ulschmid had a winning time of 20:33.56 to lead Arlington to the girls’ team title. Dell Rapids St. Mary was second.
Mallory Carlson led Iroquois/Lake Preston. She had a time of 24:28.18 to claim the 18th spot.
Estelline/Hendricks won the DVC boys’ title with 11 points.
Eighth-grader Cooper Schaefer won the individual title, finishing at 17:55.09.
Conner Giedd was the first runner to finish for De Smet. He was 11th at 19:56.15.
AJ Wienk was 22nd for Iroquois/Lake Preston at 21:08.97.

JVC girls win title in Howard
HOWARD — Hadasah Olson turned in a winning time of 21:19.73 to win the girls’ varsity race for James Valley Christian during the Howard Invite on Monday.
The Lady Vikings had four of the top 15 runners in the race.
Lily Swanson was fourth for JVC at 22:11.82, while Rhayonna Hood was seventh at 22:51.50 and Rylan Wipf was 15th at 24:18.
Mallory Carlson of Iroquois/Lake Preston was 13th at 23:45.45, while Alexis Roesler of Wessington Springs was 20th at 25:10.52.
Jeffery Boschee of Sanborn Central/Woonsocket was seventh in the varsity boys’ race at 19:09.83.
Tavin Schroeder of Freeman Academy/Marion turned in a winning time of 16:53.69.
Kaden Ober led James Valley Christian, finishing 13th at 19:50.12, while teammate Levi Crandall was 18th at 20:23.76.
AJ Wienk of Iroquois/Lake Preston was 15th at 20:00.07 and Ranick Fjerstad of Wessington Springs just missed a top-20 finish with a 20:43.88.
