Miller volleyball hosts tourney Saturday

MILLER — The Miller Rustlers finished as champions in the Miller volleyball invite on Saturday in Miller.
The Rustlers opened with a 25-11, 25-18 sweep of Sully Buttes. Aleah Schlechter was 13 of 13 serving with four aces. Shaylee Anderberg led the Miller attack with nine kills on 21 of 24 hitting.
The Rustlers then made short work of Hot Springs, 25-10 and 25-8. Anderberg had 11 kills on 23 of 23 hitting while also leading the defense with 12 digs. Olivia Resel was a perfect 47 of 47 setting with 20 assists and Journey Palmer led the Rustlers with 11 of 12 serving and three aces.
Miller then swept Sioux Falls Lutheran 25-18 and 26-24 in their third match of the day. Jolid Palmer was 15 of 17 serving with three aces and also led the defense with 15 digs. Anderberg was 14 of 15 hitting with nine kills.
The Rustlers then finished their sweep of the day with a 25-22 and 25-19 victory over Aberdeen Roncalli in the championship match.
Gracen Werdell was 20 of 21 hitting with nine kills and also added two solo blocks. Resel was 80 of 82 setting with 22 assists, and Jolie Palmer paced the Miller defense with 22 digs.
The Rustlers (23-5) are in action tonight against Wolsey-Wessington in Wolsey.
