Tiger middle-school volleyball fall to Yankton

YANKTON — The Huron Middle School Tigers seventh-and-eighth-grade volleyball teams both dropped doubleheaders to the Yankton Gazelles on Monday.
Seventh Grade
The Tiger seventh graders fell twice to Yankton, dropping the A contest 25-11 and 25-5, and the B match 25-19, 25-11.
Talley Hins had a pair of aces and Arian Pfitzer added one for Huron in the A matches, while Hins added five aces in the B contest. Taylor Sorben and Cora Wilk each had an ace for Huron as well.
Eighth Grade
Yankton won the A-match with set scores of 16-25, 25-16 and 15-12.
The Tigers got 10 kills, 11 assists and five aces from Piper DeJean, while both Claire Davis and Reagan Bischoff had seven aces and Bischoff had 17 assists.
Yankton won the B-match with scores of 25-20 and 25-20.
Huron was led by Magdalena Lee’s four aces, while Maggie Storm added an ace as well.
