Huron Parks and Recreation employees poured footings for new playground equipment in Memorial Park on Tuesday. Constructed from aluminum, steel and fiberglass, it replaces a structure in use in the park since the early 1980s. Infant swings will be nearby on a separate bay. The equipment cost about $47,000, with 50 percent funded through a National Park Service grant and administered by the state Game, Fish & Parks Department.
