NORTH BRANCH, Minn. — Norman Hofer, age 81, of North Branch, Minn.,, and formerly of Hitchcock, passed away Monday, June 17, 2024.
His funeral service is 11 a.m., Thursday, Aug. 15, at Kuhler Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Ebenezer Cemetery in Doland at 1:30 p.m., Thursday afternoon.
Visitation will take place one hour before the service.
Norman Gene Hofer was born December 8, 1942, in Huron, to parents, Josh and Katie (Glanzer) Hofer. He grew up on the family farm near Hitchcock.
He married Viola Schrioch in 1972, and they made their home in the North Branch, Minn., area. Norm worked on power plants and in construction. He was a long-time member of the Carpenters Union. Norm also enjoyed buying and selling antiques.
He is survived by his brother, Harlow (Michal) and two sisters, Carol (Bob) Murphy and Donna Swanson, all of Sioux Falls; five nephews, Jason Hofer and Justin Hofer, both of Rapid City, Ryan Hofer and Michael Swanson, both of Sioux Falls and Josh Swanson of Los Angeles.
He is preceded in death by a brother, Myron Hofer and Marlene Hofer.
The family says “Thank you” to Norm’s good friend, Jan Dusbabek, who was always there when we needed her. She was an advocate and a true friend.
