HURON –– Asphalt Paving & Materials Co. is set to being the spring phase of the City of Huron 2025 street milling and overlay project.
Work will begin on Wednesday, May 7, at 7 a.m.
The locations planned for the spring phase include:
- Ninth St. from Lincoln Ave. to Nicollette Ave.
- Union Ave. from Third St. to Old Hwy. 14.
- Center St. from Union Ave. to Rushmore Ave.
- Ohio Ave. from Sixth St. to Seventh St.
The milling should take five days to complete. No parking signs will be placed on each area to be done the day prior to starting, so you will know when the work will start in your area. Any cars on the street at the start of milling will be towed at the owner’s expense. Streets will be blocked off during the milling and paving operations.
If your sump pump drains into the street being paved, please reroute it immediately to the backyard until the street is paved and do not use sprinkler systems during this timeframe. This will help expedite the paving process. The street must be dry before paving can begin.
Paving will begin right after milling is complete (planned for May 14, weather permitting) and will be done in reverse order of milling.
