BRANDON –– Patrica A. Nagel, age 87, of Brandon and formerly of Huron, passed away on Sunday, January 5, 2025, at Bethany Home in Brandon. A private family burial will be held with internment at Restlawn Cemetary in Huron.

Patricia Ann Muhs was born on July 25, 1937, to Henry and Mabel Muhs of Wessington. She attended school in Wessington and Wolsey.

Patricia “Patti” married Harry J. Nagel, on December 3, 1954; they made their home in Huron. Patricia and Harry were blessed with five children. One thing Patti always wanted her family to know is that she loved all children and grandchildren.

Patti worked at various places in Huron including Cub Lunch, Hearth Room at Hickory House Motor Inn, Violet Tschetter Nursing Home, Huron Nursing Home, and Raven Industries/Aerostar where she worked for 37 years before retiring. Patti was a proud Raven employee where she worked in several roles over the years, retiring as Head Supervisor. She was always proud of working for a company producing “Made in America” products. Being awarded Employee of the Month at Raven in April 1989 was the highlight of her career. Patti was always excited to talk about the fundraising she and her Raven co-workers did to support the Salvation Army Angel Tree each year.

Over the years Patti enjoyed traveling throughout the United States with her sisters, reading, and weekly game days with her sister, Audrey Larson and special friend, Aldon Schimke. Patti was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Huron for 73 years and served as a deacon.

Patti is survived by her children, Juliann Wittstruck of Sioux Falls, Joel Nagel of Huron, Jay Nagel of Huron, and Janelle (Jared) Holsing of Sioux Falls; 12 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, and 7 great great grandchildren. She is also survived by one brother, Wayland “Bill” Muhs and a special friend of many years, Aldon Schimke.
