HURON – Dakota Access Pipeline LLC has donated $20,000 to each emergency management agency across South Dakota counties through which the pipeline travels, for a total of $260,000.
Checks were presented to the counties of Beadle, Miner, Kingsbury, Spink, Faulk, Edmunds, McPherson, Campbell, Lake, McCook, Minnehaha, Turner and Lincoln.
Dakota Access will make similar donations to county emergency management agencies across its four state route, totaling $1 million across 50 counties in the Dakotas, Iowa and Illinois.
“This donation will be greatly appreciated by all six of our volunteer fire departments,” said Taylor Jans, Beadle County emergency management director. “Each department will be able to use the funds based on their specific needs.”
“We appreciate that Dakota Access Pipeline cares about maintaining their relationships in each county,” said Larry Tebben, emergency management coordinator for Spink County.
