HOWARD — Richard Lentsch, 91, of Howard passed away on Saturday, July 1, 2017, at the Good Samaritan Society in Howard.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m., Wednesday at Beach United Methodist Church in Howard, with burial to follow in Winfred Cemetery. Visitation will begin at noon on Tuesday with the family present to greet friends from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Willoughby Funeral Home in Howard.
Richard Leo Lentsch was born on May 10, 1926, at Winfred, to John and Mary (Schoeberl) Lentsch.
He was united in marriage to Bonnie Shoemaker on December 1, 1947, at Pipestone, Minn.
He is survived by his son, Bruce (Maureen) Lentsch of Brookings; two daughters, Brenda (Wallace) Ahrendt of Sioux Falls and Darla (Tom) Reisch of Howard; eleven grandchildren; sixteen great-grandchildren; a brother, Henry Lentsch of Sioux Falls; a sister, Mildred Olson of Clark; three sisters-in-law; and other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Bonnie; grandson, Bradley Mentele; great-grandson, Ty Lentsch; brothers, Robert, Urban and Kenny; sisters, Caroline Frey, Dorothy Schultz and Katherine Edwards; and three infant siblings, Michael, Andrew and Elizabeth.
