Posted

WOLSEY — Junior wide receiver Moshe Richmond was the sole member of the Wolsey-Wessington Warbirds named to the Class 9A All-State squad released Tuesday.

Richmond, a 6’3”, 195-pound receiver and linebacker, picked up 551 yards on 43 receptions this season for the Warbirds, scoring seven touchdowns through the air. He also carried the ball 34 times for 159 yards and another two scores.

In his Warbirds career, Moshe has totaled 66 catches for 983 yards and 11 scores and run 37 times for 185 yards and three more scores.

On defense, Richmond has totaled eight interceptions in his career, with two coming this year along with 12 tackles for loss among his 25 solo and 34 assisted tackles.

Warbird coach Hayden Hooks praised Richmond’s work over the offseason paying off this year.

“Moshe is a one-of-a-kind player who puts the work in the offseason to prepare himself to play at a high level,” Hooks stated. “Throughout the season, we saw many different looks to account for Moshe, most often being double-teamed. He stepped into a leadership role this year and is deserving of All-State honors.”
