HURON — Robert “Bob” E. Arnott, age 87, of Huron, formerly of Wessington Springs, passed away Saturday, April 6, 2024, surrounded by his two sons and daughter.
Funeral services are 10:30 a.m., Saturday, April 13, at Our Savior Lutheran Church in Wessington Springs. Burial, with military honors, will follow at Prospect Hill Cemetery. Visitation is from 5 to 7 p.m., Friday, also at the church.
Robert Eugene Arnott was born September 21, 1936, on a farm in Hawk Eye Valley to George and Irma (Robinson) Arnott. He graduated from Wessington Springs High School in 1954.
Bob enlisted with the Air Force in 1956, as a student in the department of photographic training. He was stationed at the Johnson Air Base in Tokyo.
He married the love of his life, Adeline Robinson, July 3, 1964. To this union, four sons and two daughters were born. Bob worked for the CNW and DM&E railroad for 32 years, before retiring in 2002.
Bob is survived by his sons, Tim (Tami) Arnott and Scott Arnott, all of Oshkosh, Wis.; his daughter, Christina Arnott, of Huron; nine grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren and one on the way.
He is preceded in death by his loving wife in 2008; two sons, Orland and Jeff; one daughter, Michella; one grandson; four siblings; and many nieces and nephews.
