Rodney Hook, age 65

HURON — Rodney Hook, age 65, of Huron, passed away Monday, Nov. 25, 2024, at the Good Samaritan Center, De Smet.
His memorial service will be at 3 p.m., Saturday, November 30 at Kuhler Funeral Home. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service on Saturday.
Rodney Hook was born Aug. 17, 1959, to Dwain and LaVila (Brenner) at Huron. Rodney grew up in Huron, and graduated from Huron High School in 1978. He then attended Northern State University.
On Aug. 7, 1993, Rod married Lori Schelske at Huron. They made their home in Huron, where they raised their two sons, Parker and Jackson.
Rod owned and operated H & H Fencing and formerly owned Dakota Avenue Pawn. He was a member of the Beadle County Sportsmen’s Club. He enjoyed fishing and hunting. Rod cherished following his sons in their sporting events and was a proud supporter of the Huron Tigers and the Huron All-Stars Hockey. Rod was also an avid Pittsburgh Steelers fan. Rod’s faithful companion, Fluffy, was always ready for an adventure with Rod.
Rodney was preceded in death by his grandparents and parents.
Grateful for having shared in his life are his wife, Lori of Huron; his two sons, Parker (Adrienne Malchow) Hook of Sioux Falls and Jackson Hook of Huron; one brother, Dennis (Sandy) Hook of Pierre; Lori’s siblings, Sandy (Curt) Meylor of Lake Poinsett, John (Deb) Schelske of Scottsdale, Ariz., Tonya (Jim) Ciriacks of West Bend, Wisconsin, Nancy (Tom) Fischer of Huron, Randy (Sue) Schelske of Virgil, Mark (Linda) Schelske of Virgil and Jean (Dennis) Scheel of Wessington Springs; and many nieces and nephews and their families.
