Roehrich wins Region 1B girls' title for Clark/Willow Lake

WATERTOWN — Brynn Roehrich turned in a low round of 80 to win the Region 1B girls’ golf title on Monday at Cattail Crossing Golf Course.

While the Cyclones had three golfers inside the top 13 in the final standings, it wouldn’t be enough to hold off Castlewood for the Region 1B girls’ championship.

The Warriors, who had fhree of the top seven golfers, finished with a score of 296 to claim the championship by 10 strokes over Clark/Willow Lake.

Deuel was third in the final girls’ standings at 330, followed by Webster at 331 and Britton-Hecla at 418.

Finishing second to Roehrich in the final standings was Eva Koisti of Hamlin with an 85.

Maddie Horn led Castlewood with a 94, which put her third, while teammates Mackenzie Everson was fifth at 99and Olivia Karst was seventh at 103.

Jalen Hohm was ninth for Clark/Willow Lake with a 109, while Mallory Nelson was 13th with a 117.

Olivia Knox was 16h for Doland with a 119, while Leah Nelson was 25th for Clark/Willow Lake with a 138.

Paced by medalist Lane Tvedt, Castlewood also won the Region 1B boys’ title. However, they needed a tiebreaker to do it, as Webster matched its total of 268.

Deuel was third in the final boys’ standings with 271, while Hamlin was fourth at 271 and Florence/Henry was fifth at 277.

Clark/Willow Lake was sixth out of 11 teams in the boys’ tournament with a 287.

Lane Tvedt finished with an 81 to win the individual title for the Warriors, while teammate Larz Tvedt turned in an 85 to finish fourth.

Logan Vavruska of Florence/Henry and Blaze Amdahl of Webster were second and third, respectively, with scores of 83.

Thomas Kuecker of Webster rounded out the top five with an 87.

Kaiden Weinreis of Doland also finished with an 87 to claim the seventh spot, while teammate Briggs LaBrie was 14th at 91.

Kaiden Wookey of Clark/Willow Lake also secured his spot in the state tournament field with a 91 to finish 12th.

Trey Huber was 10th for the Cyclones at 97, while Cade Gaikowski was two spots back with a 99.

Ryder Juntunen had a 106 for Clark/Willow Lake, while Matthew Hofer of Doland finished at 110.

The Class B State Golf Tournaments will be held June 5-6 in Watertown.
