HURON — A local breast cancer awareness event has raised $1,845 to help support breast cancer awareness and detection.
This is the seventh year Huron’s Runnings store hosted a Ladies Night Out in October with breast cancer information, refreshments, door prizes and specials, with the funds contributed to Huron Regional Medical Center Foundation’s breast cancer awareness fund.
“Again this year, I am so pleased with the support of our community for this annual event,” said Shane Hood, store manager. “I’m also grateful for our employees who are very passionate about the event and raising funds for breast cancer awareness — they really work to make the evening fun for all involved.”
The event was coordinated by Laura Snowden of Runnings in Huron. Members of the Huron Regional Medical Center mammography team, Ann Van Winkle, RT(R) (M) (CT), and Torria Hennrich, RT(R)(M) RDMS RVT, were on hand to schedule mammograms and educate women about breast cancer prevention and detection.
