HURON — The Salvation Army’s Christmas Basket fundraiser is ready to amaze and entertain again this year, for its 76th annual event.
This year’s Christmas Basket is set for a four night run, beginning Monday, Dec. 2, live from the Huron High School Auditorium, with broadcast available to KIJV 1340, Tiger 95, or on the Huron Tiger Network (Midco Cable channel 6).
Dec. 2 is Huron High School Night, with performances by the HHS Concert Choir, Madrigals, Concert Band, Symphonic Band and Jazz Band.
Tuesday will feature the HHS Faculty Chorus, both the Band and the Choir from James Valley Christian School, the Huron City Band and a performance by the Fair City Brass Band.
Wednesday is Church Night, with the Holy Trinity Choir of Angels kicking things off, followed by the Riverview Methodist Church Choir, the Huron Faith Alive Church Choir, and Faith Team, along with the Bethesda Praise Team.
Thursday will see this year’s Christmas Basket wrap up with performance by the Huron High School Orchestra, the Huron Middle School Orchestra, the HMS Band and the HMS Choir.
Audiences may attend the Christmas Basket in person, may watch or listen in, but are encouraged to call or stop in and make a pledge to help those in need this holiday season.
The Salvation Army uses funds raised during Christmas Basket to purchase food that is distributed to families through the Heartland community in time for them to enjoy a happier holiday season.
