Huron High School Art
The High School Art room is busy as usual with seven classes this semester. The five Ceramics classes will learn multiple hand-building and design techniques. Some of the projects they will complete are a low-relief tile, lantern, and a choice project.

Ceramics II class is learning more advanced ceramic techniques as well as learning how to throw on a potter’s wheel. Some of the projects they will complete are sgrafitto tiles (a decorative technique that involves scratching through a coating to reveal a contrasting color underneath), trompe l’oeil sculptures, and thrown pieces.

The Drawing and Painting class is expanding on the basics learned in Art I to investigate color and value on a more intermediate level. Students will complete several projects to push and expand their skills with multiple types of 2D media.

Some of the projects they will complete will be photorealistic graphite drawings, watercolor & ink pieces, and complete weekly sketchbook assignments.
