HMS Counseling
The past few weeks in the Huron Middle School counseling office have been full of excitement as we officially began planning our spring events: Tiger Talk and Career Day.

Tiger Talk will take place on the evening of April 15th, 2025, and promises a night filled with food, fun, and informative breakout sessions on topics important to middle schoolers’ well-being. Students are asked to bring a role model of their choice and enjoy quality time together.

Career Day will be held on May 8th, 2025, with each grade level enjoying a unique schedule of engaging activities!

Sixth graders will attend various business demonstrations from our local community, plus they’ll get to interact with a fan favorite: the zoo mobile! They will also have the chance to participate in vehicle demonstrations in the middle school parking lot. In previous years, we were fortunate enough to have presentations from the Huron Police and Fire Departments, the Huron School District food truck, and other incredible local businesses.

Seventh graders will take a trip off campus and attend tours of local businesses, where they’ll have the opportunity to ask questions and reflect on their own future career goals.

Eighth graders will engage in activities focused on developing essential occupational skills. This will help students begin thinking about the employment opportunities available to them in Huron, as well as encourage them to continue considering their goals for high school and beyond.

We are thrilled to watch these exciting events unfold over the next few months!
