Huron Colony Elementary School
Last week was an exciting one for students at Huron Colony Elementary School as they embarked on a memorable field trip and now turn their attention to preparations for a special Mother’s Day event.
Last Wednesday, students visited our local public library, where they had the opportunity to explore a wide range of books, learn about library resources, and participate in a fun story time session as well as various activities. The visit encouraged many young readers to consider signing up for their own library cards, sparking enthusiasm for summer reading and the summer reading program.
After the library, the group headed to the Fair City Lanes Bowling Alley for an afternoon of strikes, spares, and laughter. For many students, it was their first time bowling, and the alley buzzed with excitement as classmates cheered one another on and enjoyed friendly competition. Teachers and parent chaperones joined in the fun, making it a memorable outing for everyone.
Back at school this week, the students are eagerly preparing for the annual Mother’s Day Tea, a cherished tradition at Huron Colony Elementary School. The children have been busy making handmade cards and gifts, practicing a poem, and helping decorate the classroom for the event, which will be held on Thursday. The tea is a time for students to honor their mothers and mother figures with refreshments, performances, and heartfelt thanks.
With their recent adventures and the upcoming celebration, it’s been a joyful and bustling time at Huron Colony Elementary School, full of learning, laughter, and love.
