The torch that will open the Special Olympics Summer Games passed through Huron on Tuesday. A group of Special Olympics competitors, supporters and others carried the torch and a flag from Huron Middle School, past Huron High School and around to the Washington 4-5 Learning Center.
The torch will make its way to Spearfish for Thursday’s Opening Ceremonies where more than half of the state’s 2,100 Special Olympic athletes will compete at Black Hills State University.
