Seventh graders win two matches against Mitchell

HURON — Huron recorded wins in two of three seventh-grade volleyball matches against Mitchell on Thursday.

The lone win for the Kernels came in the A-match using set scores of 25-19 and 25-21.

Ramsey Rozell and Jayla Schley were both 7 of 8 serving with an ace for the Tigers. Talley Hins was 8 of 9 serving, while Arian Pfitzer was 6 of 7 serving and Cora Wilk was 5 of 7 serving.

Pfitzer, Rozell, Schley and Autumn Siedschlag each had a kill for Huron. Rozell was 4 of 5 attacking, while Pftizer was 3 of 3.

The Tigers used set scores of 25-19 and 25-22 to win the B-match.

Zemi Severance was 10 of 13 serving with three aces for Huron. Wilk also had an ace on 3 of 5 serving. Lana Sharry was 6 of 7 serving, while Jesse Mattke was 6 of 9 serving and Taylor Sorben was 3 of 6 serving.

The Tigers used set scores of 25-19 and 25-22 to win the C-match.

Neveah Garcia converted on 13 of 16 serves with three aces for Huron. Ovilla Mendonca was 5 of 10 serving with two aces, while Laney Marshall had an ace on 3 of 5 serves and Eh Khu Shee was 2 of 7 serving.

The Huron seventh-graders are at the James Valley Christian Tournament today.
