East River Nursery and members from the First Congregational Church presented a donation check to Sleep In Heavenly Peace-Huron Chapter, last Saturday, Sept. 7, during the chapter’s bed build.
The group is building and distributing beds for children who are presently sleeping on the floor in the Huron area. They are the local chapter of the national organization.
Proceeds from the check were raised during East River Nursery’s August Garden Tour of Delbert and Julie Hoffmann’s yard. The freewill offering raised $1,715. Members of First Congregational Church provided refreshments during the tour.
The next bed build will be taking place at the Greater Huron Development Spec building, which is located east of Lankota on Old Highway 14, on Saturday, Oct. 5. Volunteers can contact Barb Lorenz for more information.
