HURON — With voting turnout low, possibly due to the cold and wet weather, Bryan Smith cruised to a comfortable win in the race for Huron City Commission.
Smith, who was running for his third term on the Commission, garnered 446 votes, according the City of Huron Finance officer Paullyn Carey, to 221 votes cast for challenger Connor Langbehn.
“I’m grateful for the opportunity to continue to serve the citizens of Huron,” said Smith after the results were announced Tuesday evening.
“I look forward to continuing to keep the community strong. I am proud of who we are.”
The City Commission race was the only one on the ballot, as Huron School Board members Garret Bischoff and Craig Lee were re-elected with no opposition.
