Spartans earn berth in SoDak 16

MITCHELL — The Wessington Springs Spartans pushed their season record to 21-1 Friday night, locking down the Corsica-Stickney Jaguars and coasting to a 52-35 win in a Region 5B game at the Corn Palace.

Springs held the Jags to only two second quarter points, taking a 22-14 lead at the half and pulling away in the second half for the win.

Parker Graff scored 15 points, Ryder Michaelek added 14 and Colby Flowers chipped in 10 to help the Spartans to the win.

Luca Catapano led the Jaguars with 12 points. Corsica-Stickney ends the season at 13-9.

Wessington Springs will carry a four seed into Tuesday’s SoDak 16 round and will face Waverly-South Shore at a site to be determined.
