WINONA, Minn. — Stanley Virgil LeGrand, 83, of Winona, Minn., and formerly of Huron, passed away Sunday, September 8, 2024, at Lake Winona Manor, Winona, Minn.
A committal service will take place at Restlawn Memory Gardens Mausoleum in Huron on Saturday, Oct. 5, at 1 pm. Following the service, all are invited to fellowship at Faith Alive Community Church in Huron.
Stanley was born August 15, 1941 in Huron, the son of Stanley Virgil, Sr. and Delores (Bies) LeGrand.
He graduated from Hitchcock High School in 1960. As a long-haul truck driver for 50 years, Stan traveled the lower 48 states and drove several million miles. He won several safe driving awards and never had an accident.
Stanley was previously married to Konnie (Foster) Baarts for 23 years. Together, they raised one daughter, Heather. They later divorced. In December of 1988, he married Sally Borah and cared for her until her death in 1997.
In his personal life, Stanley found joy in being with family, playing cards, hunting pheasant, fishing, and watching sports. He was an avid Twins fan and a champion of the underdog in sports and life.
Grateful for having shared in his life is his daughter, Heather (Ben) Nagel; grandchildren, Hannah, Rebekah, Joseph, Betsy, and Sophia Nagel; siblings, Wayne (Nancy) LeGrand, Denise (Greg) Ryan; many nieces, nephews, and his former wife, Konnie Baarts.
He is preceded in death by his parents, his brother Roger, a sister, Cindy Siebrecht, his wife Sally, and niece Amy Anderson.
