The Student United Way — Huron Youth Leadership Council is proud to announce that their 2025 grant process is finalized, and the group has awarded a total of $7,000 in grants to agencies within our community.

Organizations selected to receive funding this spring are as follows: Heartland Region Backpack Program, Heartland Region Pheasants Forever Pollinator Project, Huron Public Library Feed and Read Program, Huron Public Schools Destination Imagination, Educators Rising, HOSA Club, Madison Book Vending Machine, Middle School Art Club, Music Department Piano Restoration, Prom Committee and Post Prom Committee, the Karen Association, Little Blossoms Learning Center, People’s Transit and the Toy Lending Library, and Sleep In Heavenly Peace.

A group of high school students who are dedicated to community leadership, volunteerism, and philanthropy, HYLC works to make investments in the community’s youth by offering grants to organizations that create opportunities for Huron’s very own.

Agencies applying for funds must be a non-profit organization, qualifying for tax exempt status, and their projects or initiatives must directly impact the lives of youth in the Huron community.

To date, the Student United Way-HYLC has given out nearly $60,000 to youth programming in our region.
