Tea Area ends season for JVC


TEA — Third-seeded Tea Area recorded a 5-0 victory against James Valley Christian in the opening round of the Class A boys’ soccer playoffs on Tuesday.

After scoring a pair of goals in the first 10 minutes, the Titans were able to carry a 4-0 lead into the half.

Tea Area used a potent offensive attack to finish with 32 shots, compared to just three for the Vikings.

Jonah Niederbaumer recorded 19 saves in the net for JVC.

The Vikings end the season at 6-7-2.

Tea Area will travel to face second-seeded Vermillion in the semifinals today. In the other sem-final game today, top-seeded Sioux Falls Christian will host No. 5 Belle Fourche.

The Class A championship will be decided at 1 p.m. Oct. 14 at Brandon Valley High School.
