ABERDEEN — The Huron girls’ tennis team opened the season with a split in a triangular on Tuesday at the Northern State University Courts in Aberdeen.

After suffering a 9-0 setback against Mitchell, the Tigers recorded a 6-3 victory against Aberdeen Roncalli.

Earning singles wins for Huron were Heather Escobar at No. 1, Ann Hoek at No. 3, Paw Kler Moo at No. 4 and Madeline Kleinsasser at No. 5.

The Tigers also had a pair of wins in doubles.

Say Glay and Mee combined to win at No. 2, while Kleinsasser and Meyer teamed for the victory at No. 3.

Huron returns to action Friday with a double dual in Harrisburg at 9 a.m.
