Tigers record top times at DWU event

MITCHELL — Seven Huron athletes inked top-five finishes during the Dakota Wesleyan University High School Open on Thursday.

Cameron Ruth won the girls’ pole vault for the Tigers, clearing 9-foot, while teammate Jillian Reno was eighth at 6-0.

Micah Larson was second in the boys’ pole vault for Huron at 11-0, while Tyler Cronin was fifth at 9-6.

Thackary Hansen was third for the Tigers in the boys’ 200-meter dash at 23.83 and was fourth in the 60 dash at 7.26.

Bryan Ramirez was third for Huron in the boys’ shot put, with a mark of 44-8.

The Tigers are scheduled to open the outdoor season on April 5 with the Huron Invitational.
